Sofia Lacin

Sofia Lacin

Sofia Lacin begins her career as a professional artist by creating abstract paintings. Her love of color and the belief that it evokes ideas and feelings, making lives richer, are her driving principles when she creates art. Translating her abstract paintings into jewelry has added a new dimension to her studio practice. Making wearable art challenges her to design a painting as an object, as if it were a miniature sculpture, rather than a larger space you can fall into. And she realized that there is no better frame for the oil paint pigments for these miniature pieces than the glowing neutrality of skin.

Sahar Dada

Sahar Dada

Growing up in a culture where custom-made clothing seemed to be the norm, designer Sahar Dada, began to notice all of the intricate details that go into making a garment. She started out by creating pieces for friends as an extension of her mother’s growing business and realized she was providing something that was missing in the market. So the next step that made most sense was to attend design school, having attended The Illinois Institute of Art as a fashion marketing major and taking part in shows held in Chicago, she decided her true passion was for design, which led her to start her own label. Her South Asian influence definitely is what sets her apart. Incorporating her roots into her pieces, whether it is using rich fabrics, vibrant colors, or adding embroideries and embellishments.

For many, 34th St is nothing more than a sign on a map. To Sandra G Rodriguez, it’s the name of a dream. This young designer from Madrid fantasized about living in New York since she was a kid. 34th Street witnessed the meeting between her and THE city. As a tribute to this corner of the city, she decided to name her accessories brand 34th St—a fun and colorful collection that captures her character: entrepreneurial, creative and bold. Her head never stops working and her collections are always alive and dynamic like their creator. 34th St is a fresh and elegant line that grows at every step along with Sandra, always attentive to what's new and trendy.

Beck Jewels

Beck Jewels

Rebecca Paz, a native of the Dutch Caribbean island of Curaçao, began her career in fashion, studying in Italy as well as interning in Carolina Herrera New York. Upon moving back the Caribbean she founded her jewelry line, BECK, merging her experiences abroad with her island as inspiration. Today, after 4 years in the industry Rebecca’s clientele has grown from the everyday woman to celebrities alike, providing each with quality, unique pieces soaked in island glamour. BECK jewels have been spotted on young celebrities such as Gossip Girl’s Katie Cassidy and 90210’s Jessica Lowndes. BECK has also been worn in hit television shows such as, Hart of Dixie (CW), The Gossip Table (VH1) and The Bachelor (Netherlands) as well as been featured in Lucky Magazine, the New York Post, Latina Magazine, Mujer, the Miami Herald and GRAZIA (UK.) From her 14k gold-filled Swarovski classic BECK earrings came an extensive line of chunky BECKlaces, chains, charms and most recently the wildly popular stacked BECKlettes and body chains, all inspired by elements and influences from Rebecca’s life. All of her pieces are designed so that they can be worn alone or layered. “The feeling I strive to create for my customers is a casual elegance, one that will allow them to feel part of our effortlessly, chic lifestyle As soon as she puts on her BECK, I want her to feel special no matter what she’s wearing or where she’s going...” Each BECK is handmade in the designer’s ateliers in Curaçao and New York. Although her island is usually the inspiration behind BECK, the newest collection, draws influence from her trips worldwide and balancing life between the Caribbean and New York. The result is a globally minded collection full of stunning pieces that combine yellow and rose gold with edgy Swarovski crystals as well as vibrant semi-precious stones like turquoise, amethyst, white quartz, agate and freshwater pearls.

Dafné

Dafné

It all began with the idea of creating elegant and edgy jewels easy to put on and remove. Combining lightness and refinement, each single piece is comfortable to wear, so light, such a “second skin” jewel. Thanks to a strong magnet clasp, all pieces are easy to put and remove alone. Hence, the idea of wrap bracelet convertible into necklace in a simple gesture was born!. Born in Mexico, Dafné has worked 7 years in the high-end French house of YSL where she learns feminine luxury and French refinement. In and out between Miami and Paris, she has decided to set off to create her own jewelry brand beginning 2010 for which she received the “Tiffany jewelry award” during Miami Beach Fashion week in March 2011. Since then, she will keep improving her style and the brand will constantly evolve towards a one of a kind, modern and high end jewelry style. Fascinated by the contrasts in materials and the beauty of precious metal, the French designer learns cutting, forging, hammering and engraving techniques during 3 years at the “Miami Lincoln road art Center“. The 100% artisanal fabrication process will give a unique character to each pieces, hammered or “sculpted” by hand. She will bring her picky and detailed eye to get the best quality of materials, a wide range of color palette and comfort to each single piece. Trendy and poetic, her last collections that she names: “les petites sculptures” tell each one a story.Engraved with unique designs and manufactured in smaller series they will take you either to Paris or under the stars of Miami sky!...

Soleil de Mer

Soleil de Mer

Soleil de Mer Collection Made in the U.S.A. For noted Gypsy designer Karen Fowler, the ‘moment’ is the mantra for her latest collection, Soleil de Mer. Short-handedly called ‘resort wear’ and encompassing lightweight separates in luxurious silks and natural cottons, either boldly printed in trippy paisleys or simply solid in cool shades of sherbet, Soleil de Mer ready-to-wear clothing makes the transition from Boston to Bermuda as effortless and energizing as a daydream. The inspiration or porte d’embarquement for this nouveau–retro line are a handful of trendsetting, high profile muses making the scene in the 60s and 70s while ostensibly escaping from it. The glamorously jeweled and turbaned Liz Taylor at a party overlooking Acapulco Bay, a tawny and fearless Lauren Hutton on photo safari in British East Africa, the lissome and exotic Marisa Berenson on the sidewalks of Juan-les-Pins. These jet set icons knew how to wear a knockout piece of couture, but were digging the transportable chic of loose linens, gorgeous silks and crazy fabrics from the lab that looked even better out of the satchel or grip or glove box. Soleil de Mer has resurrected much of the fun and exotic practicality of Marisa’s and Liz’s and Lauren’s playful fashion insurrection. So get on the boat; you’ve got the right clothes.

Soleil de Mer
          1991

1991

1991 is a new concept of clothing and style originating in Caracas. The name comes not only from the year the three founders were born but also by the generation the brand is inspired by. The brand was launched on November 2013 in Caracas, but it all started back in August. during the summer Jeannette Galavis and Tata Hellmund came back from Buenos Aires, where they had recently obtained degrees in fashion marketing and fashion production respectively. They got together with Maria Caycedo who had started a career in fashion design in bogota but who had in turn, also moved back to their hometown. The group came together quite quickly and after several lunches and dinners, discussing dreams and ideas, they decided to make it happen. 1991 felt the need to give the girls in Venezuela a taste of the up and coming trends around the world; something that they sensed wasn’t available in the Venezuelan fashion market. Inspired by current trends, with a 1991 twist, these girls give venezuelan women a different fashion perspective and try to encourage more play and risk at the moment of getting dressed and buying clothes. They not only want to design and produce clothes but also create an urban wave in fashion culture. 1991 wants to enter the Latin American fashion world, share their vision, and offer the young generation a new way of expressing themselves.
